My contact lenses feel uncomfortable once they are in my eyes?

By admin | Mar 4, 2010

I use Bausch and Lomb multi-purpose solution for soft contact lenses. (My lenses are new and they are in good condition.) Should I buy a different solution for contact lenses? What is making my eyes feel itchy?

I am a new wearer and this happens to me too. I don’t know what it is, it might be that you ripped your lens or that it’s folded. I think that is the best solution.

maybe you suffer from dry eyes. try a contact lense that is designed for dry eyes like acuvue oasis.

They may be folded or the solution you are using may be irritating to your eyes. Even though they are new you may have ruined them. I had new contacts and got smoke in them at a cookout and they were ruined. Water, Bacteria from fingers or Smoke/Pollen can affect contacts. Try washing your hands, taking your contacts out and use your solution to clean them in your palm. Also, You can try Blink ( eyedrops that lubricate lenses) that works great. If you still have trouble, go to your vision center and get trial contacts then try a different solution.

The key word is ‘itchy’. Itchy is a sign of allergy. Most likely you are allergic to something in the storage solution. Try a different brand of storage solution and/or rinse off the storage solution with saline rinsing solution.
